Immersive Learning
SO MANY WAYS TO PLAY!
Our Exhibits
Our exhibits were planned by experienced early childhood education teachers with our local school district. These exhibits were planned with various age groups in mind, and to help meet the needs/development of different children. The museum was planned for children ages 6 months to 10 years old, but our hope is that families of all ages will enjoy their time spent together here.
Circuit Building
Learn the basics of electrical engineering by building using Snap Circuits. Make a fan come on, light up an LED bulb, or sound an alarm. This exhibit also includes some engineering kits where children can test stability for an earthquake or engineer different construction vehicles.
Water Table
Children are invited to explore various properties of water and water forms. Water cascades into the table from a cave waterfall. Children can go fishing, discover how a water vortex works and how items behave when caught in one. There are also dam inserts to discover how water flow can change, as well as an engineering area. Dams can be built and children can explore marble runs.
The Cave
Get creative with Pixel Pegs, our giant light panel. Insert colored acrylic pegs to create pictures and designs on the board.
Rainbow Room Art Exhibit
Utilize the free play materials available to create an art piece, or join in on the guided art experiences offered by staff occasionally.
Dig Pit
So much more than just a sandbox! Everyone must wear socks in the Dig Pit but if your child doesn't have socks, we have some for purchase on site.
Ball Wall
Create pathways using the magnetic pieces on the metal wall for various balls to travel through.
Air Machine
Explore forced air and discover where your pom-pom might end up in the museum.
Birdsong Barn
Our dress up area and stage for putting on your own shows using real musical instruments. This area is also used for story time twice a week with Mrs. Rachel.
The Honeycombs
Our padded area for infants and crawlers. This is a safe space for our youngest visitors who aren’t ready for the larger exhibits in the museum yet.
Logan Town Center’s Downtown
Explore dramatic play shops that can be found here in Logan. Serve some pretend ice cream up at Treehouse Treats and Treasures, see patients at the Hocking Valley Community Hospital, have a sandwich at Weaver’s Market and Deli, or get your car fixed at the Carr Doctor. You can also just spend some time in your Hocking Hills Tiny House or head out for a weekend camping trip at Campbell’s Cove campground.
